Least FORCE REQUIRED TO SLIDE A BODY ON HORIZONTAL PLANE

Least Force Required to Slide a Body on a Rough Horizontal Plane

Let a body An of weight W is laying on a harsh flat plane B, as appeared in Fig. 1.19. Let an exertion P is connected at a point θ to the flat, with the end goal that the body just starts to move. From Fig. 1.19, we find that

For P to be least, cos (θ - ϕ) ought to be most extreme, for example

cos (θ-ϕ)=1 or θ-ϕ=0 or θ=0

As it were, the exertion P is least when its tendency (θ) with the even is equivalent to the edge of grinding (ϕ).
