Stainless Steel
Hardened (stainless steel) Steel is characterized as that steel which when accurately warmth treated and completed, opposes oxidation and destructive assault from most-destructive media. The various kinds of treated steels are as per the following:
1. Martensitic treated steel. The chromium steels containing 12 to 14% chromium and 0.12 to 0.35% carbon is called martensitic tempered steel, as they have martensitic structure. These steels are attractive and might be solidified by appropriate warmth treatment and the hardness realistic relies on the carbon content. These steels can be effectively welded and machined.
2. Ferritic hardened steel. The steels containing a more noteworthy measure of chromium (from 16 to 18%) and about 0.12% carbon are called ferritic hardened steels. These steels have preferred erosion safe property over martensitic hardened steels.
3. Austenitic tempered steel. The steel containing the high substance of both chromium and nickel are called austenitic treated steels. The most generally utilized steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Such steel is regularly known as 18/8 steel. These steels are non-attractive and have the most noteworthy protection from consumption and great mechanical properties at a raised temperature.
